

The 2008 Parish Fall Festival will be held on Sat. October 18 with proceeds to benefit the Parish Ecumenical Food Pantry and Dugway too.
Parish Community Recreation, Parish Recreation and the Greater Parish Area Chamber of Commerce will host the Fall Fest with events such as: Scarecrow Contest; Apple pie bake off; Hot Shot Basketball; Soccer Goal Challenge; Inflatable Air Hops; Haunted House (pavilion); Flea Market and Crafts($2 space) begins at 9 a.m. all at the park. The costume parade begins at the Parish Fire Station at 1 PM (line up at 12:30 pm) the parade will end at Merrill Town Community Park just in time for games. crafts. face painting by the APW Art Club; Relay for Life--cancer awareness booth; balloon mania with Henry & Mary; fall treats available with Lakeside Winterguard; the chamber will have hamburgers, hotdogs and drinks available for purchase as well. Entertainment begins at 2 PM with Eddie Goetz and the Silver Spurs. and that night Parish "Drive In" at dusk Get involved sign up for a committee or participate in the contests or flea market.
We are in need of large tents (20X40), canopies, or car ports (10 X 20), Also, pony and hay wagons for rides, if you have insurance. There is a need for volunteers to make this all happen. Call GPACC president Dan Dalin 625-4955 or PCR president 625-4575.
The entries for “Focus on Parish”—photo contest will be on display at the pavilion, along with photos of the scarecrow contest entries.
A pancake breakfast at the Parish-Hastings Presbyterian Church from 7-11 a.m. followed by a Skip-bo and games party. Bring a donation for the food pantry.
A Fun Walk to STOP Hunger in the Parish Area (Montgomery Street block) 9 AM (registration at 8:30 a.m.) Adults, Kids, bring out the family dog, the stroller, the bicycle, skateboard, roller blades or just walk "The Mile". Early registration is $10- ($12 the day of the event) Participants will receive an awesome “I took the Mile to STOP hunger in Parish” “Parish Fall Fest ” shirt as supplies last. Don't stop there, challenge yourself to gather up some donations from family and friends, to help your neighbors in a time of need.
